Baby Lyla | Newborn Session

I have known Allyson since freshman year of college. We lived next to each other for a whole year and spent many nights on the couch watching Lifetime movies and Grey’s Anatomy. Allyson and her husband Zack live nearby and this past fall,Allyson sent me a message and asked if I wanted to shoot her soon-to-be-born baby girl’s newborn photos. And I was SO. EXCITED. Of course I said yes because I have been dying to do more in-home baby/family sessions.

I’ve never had a lot of babies to hold or play with in my life. I adore them and think they are so cute, but I’ve not spent a ton of time around them. I met Lyla when she was 10 days old and she just has a mind her own…meaning she didn’t sleep a wink during our session! It didn’t matter because we were aiming for lifestyle photos — capturing the family as they would be.

It’s incredible to watch friends become mothers. Allyson is a wonderful person and I can tell that she is an awesome mom. I was honored to take Lyla’s newborn photos and some photos of this precious little family. I can only hope that Josh and I have two little girls that are just as cute (fingers crossed!).
