I was so excited when Carissa contacted me this past spring for her Muskegon wedding. I went to college on the west side of Michigan, so despite being a native east-sider, I have a special love for all things Lake Michigan. I suggested we head to Hoffmaster State Park for a Lake Michigan sunset. I had camped there once with my family and I knew it had a good mix of trees and beach.
From the moment we first talked, I knew Carissa was a sweetheart. Turns out Chris and their kiddos are too! They really make the sweetest little family. Hanging out with them on a little bit of a colder late April day was a lot of fun. We did a hybrid engagement and family session, giving me time to get to know all of them before the big day.
Since I started photographing couples, I had been DYING to do something on the beach. In Detroit, most of my couples opt for more urban scenes, which is fine. But nothing can beat a Lake Michigan sunset. And we got one at Hoffmaster State Park.
Their late August backyard wedding is going to be a dream!
