When I met Robert and Elizabeth at Kahve one evening in January, they were freshly engaged and ready to tell me all about their simple December 2018 wedding. They asked so many questions, which I love because it showed they were truly invested in their wedding photographer. I knew that we were a good fit after Kahve closed down on us and cut off the conversation – haha!
I’m surprised by how many couples I’ve met that have went to high school together but never really knew each other until later…sometimes much later. I went to a large high school so I know this is possible, but I’m honestly amazed that several of my couples this year have this same story, including these two.
I’ve said it before, but I truly love when a couple chooses a location that’s special to them for their engagement session. Oftentimes, it’s a place I don’t know as well as they do, so they get to play tour guide and the session becomes more of a collaboration (definitely always welcome!). Robert and Elizabeth spent a lot of time exploring Nichols Arboretum while they were dating and while Elizabeth went to school at the University of Michigan. They met Josh and I there early on a Saturday morning in March, one of the rare mornings we had sunshine this winter, for their session.
I am so excited to shoot their December 2018 wedding in Grosse Pointe!
