For the big chapters and the pages in between, lifestyle sessions offer your family a comfortable, easy photography experience that focuses on interaction, play, and just letting kids be kids. If you are looking for a bunch of posed Olan Mills-style photos, or a bunch of props in a studio, that’s just not me. I offer lifestyle sessions on-location or in your home and seek to document your family at that moment in time. No pressure, nothing forced, just you all being yourselves and being together in that moment.

What you can expect
A go-with-the-flow attitude grabbing both posed and unposed moments between family members. I capture the natural interaction between you and your family as guided through prompts and direction as needed. Expect to play, laugh, and let the kids run the session.

milestone sessions
to celebrate the special chapters of your children
There’s truly nothing like the first year of a baby’s life or celebrating each passing year with a special portrait session. My milestone sessions aim to center around the child we’re celebrating, whether that be for a first birthday or sitter session or beyond. Milestone sessions move fast like kids do and we’ll keep it playful and fun.

What you can expect
Milestone sessions center upon the child we’re celebrating with a few family photos – posed and unposed. Examples of milestone sessions include: cake smash, first birthday celebration, sitter sessions (6-7 months), or other celebratory ages. We’ll let the kiddo run the session and make it light and fun!

Frequently asked questions
What is the booking process?
I open my booking calendar for the year by February to my email list. If we’re outside of that window, to book a session with me, complete the contact form below and I’ll email you a link to my availability. To officially secure the session, I’ll send over a contract and invoice for the booking retainer. The signed contract and a $150 non-refundable retainer are required to secure your date/time. Everything is done online to make it easy peasy for you (and me!).
What happens if it rains?
If we’re having an outdoor session, we of course are at the mercy of the Michigan weather. No one wants wet kids or messed up hair/makeup. I try to make a weather call the morning of the session for PM sessions and by 9pm the night before for AM sessions. If your session is rained out, we will reschedule for the next available date that works for both of us.
What time will our session take place?
Usually sessions take place in the two hours after sunrise and two hours before sunset for outdoor sessions, but I have some flexibility with young children. In-home sessions usually take place during mid-day hours for best light. Contact me and we can discuss what might work best for our schedules.
What do i bring to my session?
A good attitude and your smiling faces! There’s really nothing special you need other than yourselves. Leave the rest to me!
What should we wear?
After you book, I’ll send over my helpful hints and tips, but to sum it up, comfortable clothes you can move in and neutral colors always work well!
What about locations?
I have my favorite locations all around the Metro Detroit and Ann Arbor areas. Sometimes clients prefer a certain spot and that’s great! Sometimes they need help. I’m here to help you decide what fits best with what you’re envisioning. Most families opt for a nature setting so we use local parks.
How do I receive my photos and when?
All of my images are delivered via an online gallery so you can view and download them wherever you are! You’ll also be able to order professional prints, albums, and books through your gallery.
All session are delivered within a three-week timeframe unless otherwise specified by me!
