When one of your college besties asks if you’d be willing to not only photograph her wedding but also photograph their engagement photos, you of course say YESS PLEASE. I met Celeste during my sophomore year of college when she lived across the hall from me. Little did I know that I would spend the next two years as one of her roommates. She is one very special friend and someone I can always count on to lend a listening ear, which she’s done a lot over the years. Even though we now live in separate states, I knew she was secretly super happy when I married a Minnesota boy so I’d have more reasons to come visit her favorite state.
Jeremy is really a great match for Celeste in so many ways, which I got to see firsthand when I spent literally the entire day driving to and from Duluth with them. He is someone who you can truly count on, someone who is genuinely interested in whatever you’re saying, and he has this naturally calming presence. I was a little nervous when they wanted to spend all day on a photography adventure, but I had told them to pick a place that’s special to them (as I do all my clients) and they picked Duluth. It’s where they got engaged and a city they love. I love it too. I love Michigan will all my heart, but Minnesota’s Lake Superior coast is stellar. So many rocks and beaches and the cutest little downtown.
What troopers to spend hours in front of the camera with all that driving. I always feel honored to photograph couples, especially during this anticipatory period of engagement, but this one was special for me. I cannot wait to photograph their November wedding at the Como Zoo! It’s going to be the best day!
