It’s April and I know Christmas isn’t on anyone’s mind quite yet, but I wanted to share Cheyenne and Carlos’ downtown Wyandotte engagement session because not only was it a super fun time, but also it’s a good example of some nighttime photography, which used to intimidate me, but now I’m much more willing to try new things, especially using my speedlights. I’m still perfecting getting set up in the wind, but this was the perfect session to do some night shots. My favorites were from the end of the session! I think this almost always happens, as people get warmed up.

Cheyenne was actually the maid of honor in one of my first weddings, which is how we originally met! I was so excited that she emailed me after she got engaged to Carlos and they ended up booking me as their photographer. It is always so flattering when someone likes their friends’ photos enough to want to hire me for theirs! My business just simply wouldn’t exist without these lovely referrals and every time I get one, I do a happy dance.

What I love about these two (other than honestly so much) is their HAIR. Like OMG both of them have so much beautiful hair. Cheyenne is also AMAZING at all things makeup and looked gorgeous for this session. I’m really glad I was able to photograph them in their home and in downtown Wyandotte, which is close-by and where they spend time together. Plus, I got to meet their animals (and we tried to get a photo with all of them). More in-home/outdoor hybrid sessions please.
