My fall was filled with beautiful weddings at a variety of places, including Brandy and Paul’s wedding at Art 634 in Jackson, Michigan. When Brandy first reached out to me on Facebook, I knew instantly that they were the perfect couple for me to work with. Brandy and Paul have been together since high school and have two little ones. You may remember their gorgeous engagement session at the Dahlem Nature Center.

Brandy and Paul are very special people who clearly love each other deeply. We had originally planned a first look early in the day, but our plans were thwarted when we had a bit of a zipper malfunction with Brandy’s beautiful gown. Needless to say, Brandy’s entire family went into action and all was mended in time for the evening’s ceremony. You wouldn’t know this happened AT ALL from the images we were able to create (see below). With no first look, Brandy walked down the aisle to a weeping Paul (the sweetest reaction I got from a groom all year) and they said their vows in the beautiful courtyard surrounded by friends and family.

When Brandy and I first spoke, she told me that her and Paul were “awkward.” I told them, “Great, that’s what I like to hear!” I love working with people who think they look awkward together and am able to put them at ease (this is why an engagement session is so important to my process). Look at the bridals…Brandy and Paul are NOT awkward…they are STUNNING. Their engagement session gave them the confidence they needed to know that on their wedding day, they were going to rock it. They trusted me and they did rock the socks off their images. Every time I look at them, I still get butterflies.

I love a unique venue! Art 634 is an art co-op space with an event space attached to it. Let me tell you, I loved this space. It was perfect for the types of images and tones I love to create. The brick, the lights, the vines, I literally can’t wait to go back someday. Everything you need is right there and it’s one of those venues were you can bring in your own food. If you’re reading this and having your wedding there, let’s talk because I love this space!!
