It’s so delightful to be a part of intimate wedding days, especially ones like Sarah and Ryan’s fall Cafe Cortina wedding last October. I always find these smaller wedding days to be more intentional so I appreciate them sprinkled in alongside more traditional wedding days.
Ryan and Sarah are so sweet and fun to be around. I enjoyed their engagement session in the spring where we explored some secret parts of Dodge Park and so I was looking forward to spending an October Saturday with them on their fall Cafe Cortina wedding.
We started the day with a first look at Greenmeade Historical Village, which is nearby Cafe Cortina. Greenmeade is one of my favorite spots because of the unique buildings – I love the mix of textures and foilage. This day was so very bright and warm, which honestly is a little unseasonable for Michigan! Sarah had sadly injured her foot right before the wedding so she was rocking some sparkly shoes.
After a sweet first look, we roamed the park for portraits. With a small wedding party – just her sister and his brother, it was simple and fun. These two photograph so very well and I love getting all of the portraits done prior to the ceremony – easy peasy!
Cafe Cortina is a quaint venue for ceremonies and intimate receptions. Sarah and Ryan’s ceremony took place on a patio surrounded by lush greenery. Guests were invited into a dining room full of candlelight right off of the patio. Because the weather was so beautiful, this fall Cafe Cortina wedding was able to make full use of the patios and enjoy the beautiful outdoor space.
The night ended with dancing underneath the stars – literally! Outside on the patio surrounded by twinkle lights, the couple shared their first dance and guests were able to dance the night away and eat the delicious cookie cake with ice cream! My kind of party!
