Nicole and Paul’s Fern Hill summer wedding was a day filled with much love, laughter and fun. I had been looking forward to their wedding all year after our fall engagement session together. These two are full of personality and are just so sweet and kind. I genuinely loved working with them and their friends/family.
These two met at the Roseville Community Schools Scholarship Foundation Dinner Dance when Nicole was a first year teacher and Paul’s mom worked at another school in the district. She was there with one of her coworkers because we worked in the district and were obligated to go, but Paul came with his family because his mom wanted him to. As Nicole describes it, Paul didn’t really want to come either, but his mom kept insisting that he would meet a “nice girl” at the event, so he came. While looking at the raffle baskets with my coworker, Paul and Nicole locked eyes from across the room, which he took as an invitation to come and talk to Nicole. They ended up hitting it off and the rest is now history!
The day started with a Catholic ceremony at St. Augustine, which has the most beautiful stone facade. After the ceremony, we traveled down to Fern Hill golf club for portraits and the reception.
I have photographed at Fern Hill before, many years ago and I have to say I do love the willows on their golf course. It’s perfect for photos for a Fern Hill summer wedding. The sun peeks through them so beautifully in the afternoon.
Paul and Nicole’s Fern Hill summer wedding was so much fun to photograph, especially the dance floor! I love when people just get down – much thanks to Brett at Motor City HDJ, who is a fabulous DJ and can really get the party started!
