Last year I was so fortunate to be able to work at Noah’s Event Venue Auburn Hills, not just once in September for Renee and Jim’s wedding, but TWICE. It’s a great spot because everything happens in ONE place, which makes it easy to get lots of photos in an organized way.
Chris and Geralyn were maybe my most laid back couple of 2018. We spent their entire July Rochester Hills engagement session laughing, so I was looking forward to their October wedding. It didn’t disappoint! I had an absolutely fabulous time with their bridal party, parents, and guests.
These two have been together A LONG TIME (like a lot of my 2018 couples actually). And they fit really well. Chris is a little goofy and makes Geralyn laugh like no one else can. Geralyn was an absolutely stunning bride. Her perfume (fun fact I learned from her bridemaid) was given to her by Chris way back and she wore it for the first time on her wedding day.
Right before the ceremony was about to start (like literally Geralyn was ready to walk down the aisle), it started to rain. Unfortunately this meant that Chris and Geralyn couldn’t get married directly under the beautifully decorated arch. But luckily, the rain ended right after our family formals, which we were able to do in the reception hall because of the beautiful large windows!
One thing I really did appreciate about this wedding was that I felt 100% like I could also have fun. This may seem like a given to some (or not to others), but sometimes it can be weird when you don’t know where you’re supposed to sit or if you’re allowed to eat, etc. For this wedding, Geralyn and Chris made sure I felt included! I had a seat with guests and I even got a little favor — they used homemade jams as favors! This made me feel like more than just someone who was taking photos at the event, but like I was truly a part of the day. So I tried the cake and I danced a little to the Time Warp (which allll of Geralyn’s friends knew) and I truly had a great time and wouldn’t have wanted to spend my Friday night in any other way.
I really love so many of the images from this one, but I think I just love the genuine joy of everyone at this wedding, especially the joy on Geralyn’s face when she looks at Chris. I hope you two always look at each other that way.
These photos are so lovely!! They look so full of joy in each frame! You captured this beautifully!
