On most perfect September day, a St. John’s Resort wedding celebrated Colleen and Sam’s love. We started the day at St. John’s Resort in the hotel for getting ready photos and on the way out Colleen had a first look with her dad and brothers. It was truly a special moment – Colleen is the last daughter to get married in her family!
A Charming Chapel Ceremony
This enchanting celebration of love began with a heartwarming ceremony at St. Michael the Archangel in nearby Livonia. The quaint chapel’s wooden pews and intricate stained glass windows created an intimate atmosphere that perfectly complemented the couple’s love story. The couple has been together since they were 17 and met through church! After attending college in different cities, they tied the knot right after Sam’s graduation from Grand Valley. He is an elementary school teacher and she is a nurse – and you can tell that they are in the profession of caring for others. I don’t think I’ve ever had someone check in on me as much as Colleen did! And Sam is probably the sweetest groom I’ve ever worked with, truly!
The Beauty of St. John’s Resort
After the heartfelt vows and exchanging of rings, the newlyweds and their guests made their way to Plymouth for this St. John’s Resort wedding. Colleen, Sam and their wedding party took portraits in the lovely courtyard and infamous hallway before their reception in the Grand Ballroom. We were even lucky enough to catch a sunset with these two for their St. John’s Resort wedding. One of my favorite ways to give my couples a breather on the wedding day is sunset photos – taking that five minutes to chill alone outside of your reception can be a great way to regroup!
From the Couple
100% you should hire Madalyn for your wedding (or any photo needs). We initially reached out to Madalyn about a year before our wedding and she was so informative and helpful. Everything following was literally so easy and flawless. She is calm, intelligent, organized, and so talented. She made a timeline for my wedding day that I literally used to plan every other vendor. Her information forms are so great and helped me to work through what I actually wanted on the wedding day! They were quick to fill out but were detailed and thorough to make sure we were all in the same page. On the day of the wedding she was a calming presence but also kept us (and our somewhat bad at listening bridal party) on schedule. She was like my guiding hand through the day hahah. But for real she is so genuine and organized and I credit the day running smoothly largely to her. The day after the wedding, so many of our friends and family complimented how much they loved Madalyn. Not to mention the pictures are amazing. My wedding was only like 3 weeks ago so we only have the previews but they are beautiful! We received so many more sneak peaks than I expected and I am in love with every single one, we can’t wait for the rest!
Too long didn’t read: Hire Madalyn if you want a photographer that is genuine, caring, organized, extremely talented, and will make your day so fun and flawless. You will not regret it!
