Let me be the first to say that you don’t need to be engaged or married or having a baby or whatever to get professional photos taken! I think so often we tie professional photography to key life-changing moments, which totally makes sense, but sometimes that leaves out the in-betweens which can be just as delightful to remember. Ashley is a part of the Live Light Doula Services collective, and after doing the group’s headshots last November, she reached out and asked if we could do a Christmas card photo session with her and her boyfriend, Jonny. I was all in and we met up for an Eastern Market couples session right before Thanksgiving.

There’s something really lovely about photographing in November. I don’t know why, but people try to stay away from it, but I love it! Also I love Eastern Market’s murals and color. We spent the morning laughing our way through the alleyways. It was one of my most fun sessions of 2018!

So the point is, you don’t have to wait for a special moment for nice photos. Photos last and help us remember.
