I remember extended family sessions when I was younger – they were mostly of my cousins and I. Like most of the family photo sessions we did, we took them at Sears studio. Remember that? This Livonia extended family session isn’t like that at all!

Dani booked this Livonia extended family session as a celebration of her parents’ wedding anniversary and for a refresh of their family’s photos. At Dani and Matt’s wedding, they couldn’t include the family dog Luna.

There are so many reasons you could schedule an extended family session: an anniversary, a new baby, a yearly tradition, redecorating, etc. I think it’s lovely to have some professional photos of your extended family periodically, plus what’s cuter than photos of your parents. You don’t have to be getting married to have photos together!

We met at Greenmead Historic Village in Livonia, which is one of my favorite spots for families. There are a lot of different settings very close together and I love the textures of historic buildings.
