I love a Metro Beach family session. I’ve frequented Lake St Clair metropark for other sessions, but no one has ever wanted to use the beach. When Bridgette reached out about a family session, she mentioned she absolutely wanted to do a beach session with her girls – sold!

Though our original beach plan didn’t work out (despite it being mid-August!) we pivoted to a Metro Beach family session in the morning. Not only were we dare I say blessed with a cloudy day but we also had the sand to ourselves, which is so ideal with little kids.

I think summer is probably my favorite season to photograph families. I know everyone dotes on the fall colors but I like the warmer temperatures, greens, and flowers that summer brings.

Maybe the most exciting part of the session was being able to take a few announcement photos for baby #3 – which ended up being a sweet little boy!
