There is a secret to fall in Michigan…it is best in early November. Many believe the fall colors to be strongest in mid-October, but not in Metro Detroit. The best color is usually the last week of October and first week of November, which is when I met up with Nick and Alysia for their fall Maybury State Park engagement session.

Maybury State Park is one of my favorite places for an engagement session any time of year. I really love the fields and trails available at the park, as well as the fact that the great locations are steps from the parking lot, making it perfect for families.

Nick and Alysia are so sweet and just easy to talk to. We chatted about coffee. They’re also super brave to pick the morning session, which almost no one does, and they love the outdoors. These two even hiked with me down to the beautiful pond on the other side of the park, which was worth it!

When I look back at this fall Maybury State Park engagement session, I feel so nostalgic for fall…it comes so quickly and leaves so quickly. I wish it stuck around a little longer.
