We love a sweet newborn boy – especially one named the same as my own son! This St. Clair Shores newborn session in a sweet little bungalow was the perfect way to start my 2025 work year!

First babies are always lovely to photograph for different reasons than all the others that come after them. New parents are just that – new – and now being a mom of two myself, it’s nice to give them some insider information, and even sometimes supportive commentary if that’s what they need. It’s nice to let them tell me about their birth experience, if they’d like, and share tidbits of “it’s normal” and “don’t worry, it’ll end” to them as they share their anxieties and worries with me sometimes. I also get a quick newborn baby fix – because let’s be honest there’s nothing like holding a newborn baby. Newborn life is so fleeting, as is everything with children, I’m learning.

For this St. Clair Shores newborn session, these parents had the cutest nursery set up – in fact their home was just lovely to photograph in, and actually we had a really sunny winter day to do it. Myles slept through most of his session and was a very cooperative little guy which made my job so easy.
