It’s always truly a delight to work with a family more than once and I’m so lucky I have been able to work in some capacity with all three of the Lindberg sisters! Erika is the youngest of three sisters and when she reached out to ask if I’d photograph her fall Westers Family Winery wedding, I of course said, absolutely! I photographed her sister, Kelsey’s, wedding back in 2019 at the Polo Fields of Ann Arbor, and have worked with Kristin’s family on newborn photos for two of their sweet kids. This family is the best to work with!

You might remember Erika and Ian’s Detroit engagement session which was on the prettiest spring day. The weather was not the same on their wedding day, unfortunately, but they truly made the best of it! I am always prepared no matter what and when a couple trusts me and rolls with the punches, we can still make plenty of magic! I always come prepared with clear umbrellas just in case – you never know. I know no one expects rain on a wedding day, but it’s terribly romantic and I’ve never NOT been able to make beautiful images with couples.

We were still able to get outdoors for photos at the fall Westers Family Winery wedding, and though I was bummed we didn’t get to use the entirety of this beautiful property, I can say that the staff with Shoreline Events was top-notch in making sure my team could do what we needed to do, and the wedding party was very supportive.

Erika and Ian’s families know each other well – these two literally grew up together. It’s rare these days to hear a story like theirs, but they found their way to each other in adulthood and have a shared history of wonderful memories of camping trips, childhood church activities, and the like. And now their families are related – literally!

After a heartfelt ceremony that included a special moment of prayer from their parents, these two were married! The reception space, which served as a ceremony space as well, was so lovely to shoot in, and lovely for dancing! The big doors opened up in the evening once the rain stopped and everyone danced the night away. Erika’s nieces really got down – I do love kids on the dance floor at weddings!
