Since beginning my photography business nearly ten years ago, I’ve always photographed newborn sessions at home. I love capturing families right in those first weeks of baby’s life. But recently I’ve started offering studio newborn sessions at a favorite studio of mine and it’s been a great change of pace! This Royal Oak studio newborn session celebrated a THIRD baby. I’ve been photographing this family since their oldest was 9 months old – they are regulars at my mini sessions every single year. And to celebrate their third baby, they opted for a Royal Oak studio newborn session.
What’s great about a studio session is that you show up and there’s no cleaning or any prep (other than getting yourself there and ready) needed! The studio is a very neutral space that allows every family to shine. My studio newborn sessions are shorter than at home sessions – they’re only an hour versus two hours – but I can usually run through many of the similar poses that I’d do at home. It’s not intended to be a full on “studio newborn” session, but more of a lifestyle newborn session within the comfort of a studio. At home sessions typically are more personal as they’re taken right where you live your life – and I’m able to make almost ANY home work (trust me!) but sometimes a Royal Oak studio newborn session is right for you and your family.
At a Royal Oak studio newborn session we’ll still wrap baby up, still photograph the entire family, siblings with baby, and baby solo with a few props. We’ll just do it with the studio furniture and walls!
I currently offer studio newborn sessions in Royal Oak, Pontiac and Mt. Clemens and am actively booking all due dates!
