I love being invited to a family’s home for a session! This Beverly Hills Village Park family session was divided into two: we started at their home and then finished up at the park for sunset. This family had recently moved into their house and wanted to capture a few memories in it as a celebration, as well as include their four-legged family member.
Now Caroline and Teddy are a year older and I’ve seen them for tree farm minis, but still just as cute and photogenic. Teddy now has a wild head of curls that I just adore. Kayla and Justin made some cute babies, didn’t they?
Mini sessions are great (I love them dearly) but sessions like this Beverly Hills Village Park family session really allow me to spend more time with your family and get more of the playful side of things. Also if your kiddos take time to warm up, I suggest trying a full session before attempting any mini session. Sometimes it’s just the age, sometimes it’s the temperament/personality of your kiddos! Full sessions allow me to really take time and get those more genuine interactions that I can’t grab in 20 minutes!
For our own family, I do both a full and mini session once a year a least. I find little kids really change so much even in 6 months so having at least two sessions allows me to capture those changes. After having my own baby I really can say, wow they do grow so fast! I know I’ll never regret the money spent on having someone else take our photo together since let’s be real, when does mom hop in, especially when she’s a professional photographer?
Beverly Hills Village Park is kind of a hidden gem in the southern Oakland County area. The best part is limited walking which for families with littles is IDEAL. This session was later in the fall (almost Thanksgiving) but I could see a gorgeous summer session happening here – beautiful trees, open grassy area and water.
