Ashley and Jacob’s summer Blake Farms wedding was such a dreamy day that I still think about what a delightful time I had photographing them. It was my second time at Blake’s for a wedding – but it had been awhile. I absolutely loved the reception details – many of which were made by the bride herself – and how sweet these two are together.
The day was cloudy – odd in August for this summer Blake Farms wedding. But nothing could stop Ashley and Jacob from reeling in joy once they saw each other in a sweet first look in the orchard. There were a few sprinkles here and there but no one really minded! I’m just glad it didn’t pour on us.
These two come from a family of sisters (Ashley) and a family of brothers (Jacob) and are high school sweethearts. Their wedding party was family which made it so fun to work with them. I love the pink tone Ashley’s bridesmaids wore, it felt perfect for an August wedding in an apple orchard.
After the lovely ceremony where the bride and groom exchanged beautiful personal vows, everyone headed to the Apple Barn for the reception. This summer Blakes Farms wedding had a donut wall, a custom neon sign, and beautiful signage throughout made by Ashley.
Before I left, we took a moment to take a few images outside under the market lighting. I always like to try and fit a nighttime photo in, especially if there’s no sunset, like at this summer Blake Farms wedding. Nighttime photos have become somewhat of a signature photo of mine in galleries. Ashley and Jacob’s turned out wonderfully – scroll to the bottom to see!
